Life size epoxy sculpture suspended from the roof(2 x 1 x 1,5 m), ecosphere and daylight bulb, made in collaboration with Janne Hoem.
Sculpture modelled after climate-lawyer Vikram Kollmannskog, the dying Tarzan is almost hitting the ground, thou still clinging to the liana, while with the other hand holding a glass sphere with a hermetically closed ecosystem within. The ecosphere was developed by Nasa to make controllable and self sufficient life-spheres: a copy of the globe’s life upholding functions, now on sale as an exclusive ornament. The shadow of a superman opposes the falling figure. On the soundsystem plays the Carnatic / South Indian musical composition «the self dies not, when the body is slain»:
The self is never born, nor does it die
Being and not being are illusions
Beginnings and ends are dreams
The self dies not, when the body is slain
Exhibited at Polart/Tromsø Kunstforening 2010 together with the video installation CHANGE MUMMIFIED.
